stunning surroundings but average amenities
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, showcasing a stunning grade one listed building. Having a seating area in the room made family conversations much easier during a difficult time.
The amenities were decent but could use some upgrades.

The superior double room was spacious with a great separate seating area. The friendly staff provided excellent service, and the breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. despite the nice grounds, cleanliness in the public areas was lacking. remnants from previous events remained throughout the evening, which affected the dining experience. the restaurant being understaffed created an awkward atmosphere.

I really enjoyed the gorgeous period property with lots of character and the ample opportunity to explore beautiful nearby parks like Beaumont Park, just over 2 km away, perfect for a leisurely stroll, while the welcoming, friendly staff made my short stay even better as they were always helpful whenever I needed anything. the room, however, could definitely use a thorough cleaning.

missingWrote a review on 30 Junhistorical architectureserene environmentroom maintenance
The historical architecture captivates immediately, especially the impressive medieval chapel with its stunning stained glass windows. The well-maintained grounds offer a serene environment, perfect for leisurely strolls or sipping coffee outside.
The family room had noticeable signs of wear, like a window handle that was practically falling off and poorly lit corners that felt uninviting. Noise from adjacent rooms was quite disturbing, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. the stairs had an odd layout that made carrying luggage a bit of a hassle, especially when trying to maneuver with any kind of footwear that wasn't flat and secure. The breakfast experience fell short. orders were misplaced or forgotten, leading to frustrating waits for food that never materialized. Due to the historical nature of the building, accessibility can be an issue for those with mobility concerns.

Family with children will love it
The place is like stepping into a different era, the staff went out of their way to share stories about the history—felt like I was in a real-life documentary. The Fawlty Towers dining experience was a hilarious surprise, just what you need after a long day!
It’s not exactly what you’d call budget-friendly, but you get what you pay for!

The hotel has a unique charm that comes with its history. The grounds are beautiful, perfect for a leisurely walk. My room in the main part was spacious and filled with character. Breakfast was a real highlight – tasty and well-prepared. Staff interactions stood out as friendly and accommodating. the bathroom cleanliness needed attention. I found a few issues that detracted from my stay. The shower temp was inconsistent, and some of the furniture felt a bit worn. Mobile signal was surprisingly poor, which made it difficult to stay connected. Despite these issues, the ambiance and history of the place made it memorable.

Not bad for a couple getaway
First night, we had a lovely dinner with some unexpected veggie options, so thanks to the staff for saving our meal. The main building had the charm of a piece of history, felt like a place where a lot has happened, you know.
Wasn't exactly cheap but still worth it.
